4 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari

In these 4 days carefully designed Gorilla tracking and Akagera wildlife tour, expect value for money as you get lost into the wildness, where only the lush forest and sweet melodies from the birds are your immediate neighbors. You will meet primates such as the endangered Mountain gorillas in the jungle of volcanoes national park and mammals (lions, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes, among others) in the savannah grassland of Akagera national park.

Akagera national park is the only destination for game viewing in Rwanda, hosting several big and small cats, not forgetting the birds and unique plant species in Rwanda, while Volcanoes national park is the only destination that hosts mountain gorillas in Rwanda, and one of our mountain gorilla trekking destinations in the entire world. In the 4 days’ safari, expect to track the mountain gorillas, do game viewing, city tour, cultural center and boat ride.

Detailed safari

Day one: Pickup and transfer to Akagera national park for afternoon boat ride at Lake Ihema

Hopeful that you will be able to abide by the agreed time because our company representative will be available to pick you up for the trip at either your lodge or the airport on this day. He will then brief you on what to look out for on the trip before setting off on a 4-5 five-hour smooth drive to Akagera National Park for an afternoon boat cruise at lake Ihema where you have the opportunity of watching some water lovers such as crocodiles, school of Hippos and many more, not forgetting the mammals and birds by the lake shores. You will end the day with dinner and overnight though never forgetting the fascinating rolling Hills, scattered homesteads, eye-catching plantations among others along the way.

Day two: Morning game drive and Drive to Volcanoes national park.

Start your day with breakfast, before having a 3-5 hours’ game drive experience in the savannah grassland of Akagera national park, where you will have a chance of encountering several unique tree species, rear bird species and numerous mammals such as Lions, Buffalos, bushbucks, elephants, Zebras, Antelopes, hyenas and impalas among others.

Full of memories and positive strength, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch, and then depart for a very exciting and scenic drive full of unmatched views of the rolling hills, and green plantations to Volcanoes national park where you will engage in an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in the lush forest, beneath the Virunga volcanoes. Arrival will be in the evening where you will proceed to the lodge for dinner and a snooze.

Day Three: Morning mountain gorilla trekking and cultural encounter

Immediately you get done with breakfast, drive to the park’s headquarters where you will Join fellow gorilla lovers on a lifetime gorilla trekking opportunity in the lush forest of volcanoes national park. The activity begins with a short briefing where the park rangers will tell you the dos and don’ts when tracking the gorillas, as well as verifying your gorilla tracking documents that are valid for that particular day after which it expires.

When the briefing is done, the park ranger will allocate you to a specific gorilla family with some of the characteristics you like, and then accompany you to the Jungle in quest of the human relatives believed to be having 98% of human genes. Besides the 1-6 hours’ tracking exercise, the park rangers will give you one hour to closely observe the Mountain gorillas feed, play and interact with each other. When the gorilla tracking is over, enjoy your delicious lunch meal before heading out for a 2-3 hour stimulating cultural experience with the Rwandese locals who will fill your heart with joy and leave your ribs aching with peals of laughter through the traditional performance. After it all, drive back to the lodge for some refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day Four: Nature walks and depart for Kigali international airport

Start your morning with a smile, as you gently summarize the cup of coffee right in front of you. Thereafter, go for a two hour relaxing guided nature walk experience to some of the most exciting sports in the park with a good selection of flora and fauna. Thereafter, return to the lodge and check out with your entire luggage, for a 2-3 hours’ drive to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.End of safari
