This 4 days Akagera wildlife safari gives you an amazing opportunity of encountering African big 5 game and several occupants absorbed in the unspoiled Akagera national park, located in the Eastern Region of Rwanda. Day 1: Pickup, city tour and drive to Akagera National park
Upon landing at Kigali international airport, our company representative will be glad to meet and brief you about this 4days rewarding experience at Akagera national park. He will explain to you everything involved in the trip, including the activities and acceptable behaviors while in Rwanda (country of a thousand hills).
Thereafter, you will commence with the trip, starting with a city tour where you will visit some Local markets to buy souvenirs and items you will need during the safari. Follow the city tour with Lunch before embarking on a 2-3 hours’ drive to Akagera national park in Rwanda.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive experience
Start your day with a very heavy cup of coffee, and then pack your camera, umbrellas, binoculars and packed lunch after which you will drive to the park for a rewarding full day game drive experience in the vast savanna grassland, harboring Africa’s big 5 game, such as Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes and Rhinos among others, plus Antelopes, zebras, giraffes and many more, not forgetting different plant and bird species.
You will enjoy a sumptuous picnic Lunch during the game drive, before continuing with the game viewing where you will drive to all the corners of the park in the quest for your favorite mammal or plant species, in the evening before dinner and overnight at the lodge. There is no 100%assurance of finding the cats, though we hope that this will be your perfect opportunity.
Day 3: Nature walk and Boat cruise
On this day, breakfast comes first, before going for a 2-3 hour amazing guided nature walk in the park, covered by unique tree species, several bird species and a scenic environment, ideal for photography, as such, it will make you appreciate nature.
When the nature walk is done, you will have some refreshment and lunch before driving to Lake Ihema for a 2-3 hours’ unforgettable boat cruise experience that gives you a chance of spotting not only aquatic life such as the crocodiles and Hippos, but also the mammals such as elephants, the waterbuck and several bird species among others.

Day 4: Return to Kigali, visit genocide memorial center and departure.
After enjoying a cup of coffee, check out of the lodge and drive back to Kigali international airport for an exciting flight back home. However, if time allows, you will visit the king’s place and then the Genocide memorial grounds.
