3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari from Entebbe

The 3 days memorable Bwindi Gorilla Safari is a casual meeting with the awesome apes in Uganda in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda. It is one of the oldest forests lasting for over 25,000 years and it covers an area of 321 square kilometers.

During this safari, you will be able to trek some of the habituated mountain gorillas out of the 12 habituated mountain gorillas which takes 2-8 hours. Beside trekking gorillas in Bwindi, you will have a brief encounter to see other primates like red-tailed monkeys, Chimpanzees, baboons and so many others.

On your way to the Park, you will have an enroute lunch at Igongo Cultural Center as well as enjoy the museum tour. On you continue with the journey to the park, you have an opportunity to stand in two different hemispheres at the same time when you reach the equator.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK VIA EQUATOR.

After an early morning bite, you will embark on the journey towards the western region of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey is 474.7 kilometers from Kampala – the Capital city of Uganda that is approximately 9-hour drive.

You will have a break in the journey at the Equator for a memorable photo-shoot, have an opportunity to stand in two different hemispheres at the same time, feel free to buy beautiful crafts and souvenirs. After, you will proceed to Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center; have museum tour for about 30 -40 minutes.

Proceed on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arrive at the lodge in the evening check in for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger about what to do and what not to do during the gorilla trekking, you will then be divided in group of 8 each allocated to a specific gorilla family. After start off the trek with these giants as directed by the rangers, during this memorable experience, expect to move long distances in muddy and steep conditions therefore you will be required to have a walking stick or hire a porter to carry your luggage during the trek.

This is a great opportunity watching mountain gorillas feed, play around and also their day to day activities. This activity can take 2- 8 hours according to the location and movements of these apes, you will spend one hour with them after trekking as you take photos for Ugandan safari memories.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala.

Have your heartfelt breakfast and check out to start your journey back to Kampala passing through rolling hills and terraces; also have a great time viewing the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through.

Have a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and also another stopover at Mbambire drum makers point for a cultural experience. Continue to Kampala arriving late afternoon to catch your evening flight at Entebbe Airport.
