This 15 days Uganda safari will take you to the country’s famous protected and conservation areas in the west for game viewing, boat cruises, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking experience. Undertake an adventure tour to Jinja and Kampala city. This trip will start and end from Entebbe.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
At your arrival at Entebbe international airport, pick up from our professional drive guide. Have briefing and head to Kampala for lunch and proceed to Murchison falls national park in north-west of Uganda. Arrive at the lodge in the park for a night game drive.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise.
Have early breakfast, and prepare for game drive in view of different mammals such as giraffes, Oribis, Jackson Hartebeests and buffaloes, not forgetting the beautiful sighting of the bird species while on the drive.
Thereafter have lunch and head for a boat cruise on the Nile where you will view other mammal species such as the crocodiles, hippos and elephants.
This cruise will be heading towards the thunderous Murchison falls what will be the reward at the end of the cruise, as you will witness how the Nile passes through the 7m gorge and flowing mightily giving an amazing view of the two falls – Uhuru & Murchison falls.
You may take an optional hike to top of the falls for a closer encounter with the fall. Return to the lodge for dinner and a sleep over.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to the primate capital of the world; Kibale national park where you will have chimpanzee trekking experience. Have lunch in Hoima and visit Kibiro salt garden where you will be shown salt formation and processing at the site.
Proceed to fort portal – home of Kibale forest national park where you will sleep and have a well prepared dinner.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking, Bigodi wetland visit.
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the trek. After head off to the jungle led by the ranger guide in search of wildlife. The guide will help you spot these species easily.
This park has about 13 primate species, that on this safari you will have a chance to see but most importantly, chimpanzees, white and black Colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary, an area also rich in birds and other primate species.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will be heading for a melody of wonders in Queen Elizabeth national park. Arrive at the lodge, where you will relax till lunch and go for game drive in the afternoon in kasenyi sector, where a number of wild mammals will be seen.
Big game to spot include leopards, buffaloes, warthogs and Elephants among others. After this fun activity return to the lodge for a night stay.
Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise
This is another day for more game viewing in the park, as you wake up for a tasty breakfast at the lodge then go for a game drive in Katwe region and Queen’s pavilion. This area is famous for accommodating lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and big mammals such as antelopes and hyenas, among others.
Later prepare for a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga channel after lunch. This launch trip avails you to verdant bird sights and hippos swimming in the water.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi national park
Have breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer south to Rushaga sector in Bwindi impenetrable national park. The park is best known as the world’s hub of up to 50% of mountain gorilla population. This park is among the few locations in the world with these beautiful mammals.
Have lunch enroute and arrive in the park where you will chill and relax till bedtime.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking
Wake up, have breakfast and head to the parks headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking; thereafter proceed for a trek to the thick forest. This sector has over five gorilla families that include Busingye, Kahungye, Nshongi, Bweza, Mishaya, etc.
Get one on one encounter with the family that you will find while trekking and only a group of 8 individuals will be allowed to participate in the trekking.
You will have an ultimate gorilla experience in the forest as you will take pictures and videos of these beauties as they feed, play and groom. After this amazing experience, return to the lodge for another night stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Still with a reminisce of your gorilla experience in Bwindi, you will have a warm cup of tea and prepare for a 5-hour drive to the next destination. You will transverse through the beautiful hills of western Uganda, with unmatched scenic views of the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi and some of it islands.
Have lunch at Igongo cultural center and continue to Lake Mburo national park where you will spend your evening and an overnight.
Day 10: Horseback safari and a boat cruise.
Have a delicious breakfast at the lodge and get ready for a horseback safari in the park. On this ride will you view wildlife such as Impala, Topi, waterbucks, Giant Elands and zebras among others.
After head back for lunch and proceed for boat cruise on Lake Mburo that will avail more wildlife that will make your safari a memorable experience.
Day 11: Transfer to Jinja city
On this day, start your journey back to the central region of the country, with enroute lunch at the equator. Continue with the journey to Jinja town via Mukono – Jinja highway, driving through the beautiful Mabira forest. Arrive in Jinja, where you will check in at the hotel for a sleepover and dinner.
Day 12: Visit Source of Nile, Itanda falls
Wake up for a fun day in Jinja, after your breakfast head to the Source of R. Nile in Jinja town. On arrival, you can buy a few souvenirs at the craft shops and thereafter go for boat ride on Lake Victoria to the source of the world’s longest river where you will have pictures and a beautiful afternoon.
After lunch and set off to another adventurous trip to Itanda falls, where you will have a close view of the raging river Nile, have photography moment and then leave for a rest back at the lodge.
Day 13: White water rafting
This is another adventurous day during your 15 days safari in Uganda. You will have a full day of rafting experience along Nalubale Lake. This activity will involve a fun raft in the rapids of River Nile that will give you a lifetime experience. After this fun activity, return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 14: Transfer to Kampala
You will wake up in the morning and embark your journey to Kampala where you will have a stopover at Mabira forest for zip lining, another thrilling activity in the forest.
Later on, proceed to the capital for a chill and then have an optional night life experience where you will be able to go visit different outing places around the city, like bars casinos and theme parks. You can have a night out or return for comfy sleep at the city hotel.
Day 15: Departure
