The 4 days chimp trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park tour favors a tourist who has little time in Uganda but would like to enjoy scenic viewing, game drive, chimp trekking and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in the western region of Uganda; it is 387.3 kilometers from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda lasting an approximate 6-hour drive. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the remarkable savannah parks in East Africa for game viewing, chimp trekking and nature walk.

The 4 days safari offers you a good time to trek chimps in Kyambura gorge as you feel what the charming northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park offers.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Via the Equator.

The guide will pick you up from your comfortable place, be briefed on the 4 days safari on what to expect on the entire trip. The journey will take you through the small towns along Kampala- Masaka highway, have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe for relaxation and take some photographs for memories.

Have another enroute for lunch in Mbarara town and then continue to the park, check in to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and afternoon Boat Cruise On Kazinga Channel.

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a journey to Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive. During this game drive, you will spot various animals such as buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, lions, antelopes, leopards and so many other animal species. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.

After lunch, drive to Mweya peninsula for an afternoon boat cruise which takes 2 hours. Kazinga channel is the heavily concentrated habitat for hippos in the whole world and over 60 bird species can be spotted on this water way. You will also have an opportunity to spot various animals like elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes and many antelope species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Chimp Trekking in Kyambura Gorge

After an early morning game drive, you will set off to Kasenyi plains and Queen’s pavilion for another game drive and an opportunity to spot more animals that you might have missed during your first game drive.

Return to the lodge for lunch and then proceed to Kyambura gorge in the afternoon for briefing on the dos and don’ts during the chimp trekking adventure.

Chimp trekking is a bit difficult in Kyambura gorge and may require physically fit people but the joy of meeting these amazing creatures face to face is worth the trek. When you find these chimps, you will spend one hour with them, and after drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala

After a cheerful breakfast in the morning, have leisure around the lodge and then embark on a journey back to Kampala to catch up with your flight at Entebbe airport.
