In this 3 days mount Bisoke and Karisimbi hike, you will explore two of the eight mountains seating in Volcanoes national park, in the Virunga chain of mountains that surround three countries of Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
Hiking Mount Bisoke that stands at 3,711m above sea level takes up to 3-5hours to reach the summit, with no serious experience needed, and Mount Karisimbi takes two days and one night spent at the mountain.
The hike presents to one an opportunity of having physical fitness test, watch some primates, have an aerial view of some parts of volcanoes national park and take amazing photos among others.

Day 1: Hike Mount Bisoke
On this day, our driver guide will pick you up at the agreed point and time, brief you about the three days hiking adventure before driving to Volcanoes National Park, traversing the undulating hills in the countryside, and the locals rushing to their farmlands. When you are at the park’s headquarters, head for a pre-hiking briefing and document verification that commences at 8:00 am and done by the park rangers, who will later on accompany you for the hike, which lasts for approximately 3-5 hours depending on your speed.
Lunch will be served enroute as you progress to the summit, where you will watch different primates, birds and several Virunga mountains among others. After taking photos, descend and meet your driver guide who will drive you to your accommodation for refreshment, followed by dinner and a comfortable nap
Day 2: Ascend Mount Karisimbi
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and then head to the park’s headquarters for another hiking escapade that kick starts with a briefing by the park rangers at the park headquarters.
Thereafter, the park ranger will escort you to mount Karisimbi for the 2 days’ hike, starting with a 6-7 hours’ strenuous walk, with frequent rests and lunch on the way as you progress with the hike to the summit of the 5th highest snow-capped volcano in Africa.
The hike gives you an amazing opportunity of watching several birds, primates, flora, and Rwanda’s rolling hills. You will have dinner and spend the night at the Top of the Mountain
Day 3: Descend Karisimbi mountain
At sunrise, you will have breakfast, and then you have to hours of photos at the summit before descending to the base where you will meet your driver who will well come you back from the tiresome yet unforgettable experience. He will drive you off to Kigali city or the airport for your next journey.
