Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Akagera national park
On this day, our expert driver-guide will meet you at the agreed point, be it at your residence, the airport or your hotel, followed by a detailed talk about the destination to be visited, country and the itinerary as you have a cup of Juice.
Upon completing, make a simple city tour to exchange the money to Rwandan currency, visit the local markets to buy few of the essential items for the trip that you might have missed and visited the genocide memorial site, where millions of innocent people were killed by a group of merciless people in 1994.
Have lunch before continuing with the 2-3 hours’ drive to Akagera National Park where you will have your dinner and overnight as you wait to engage in a rewarding game drive experience the following day
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise at Lake Ihema
Start your day with energy-giving breakfast before driving to the wild on a morning game drive that exposes you to some of the glorified wildlife biodiversity such as the tree species, birds and mammals come true. In the 1-4 hours’ game drive, you can change to spot lions, Rhinos, elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, and Buffaloes among others, roaming around the park in search of what to feed.
After that, you will have a picnic lunch, and then drive to Lake Ihema for a Boat cruise that gives you a chance of spotting several crocodiles, school of Hippos and other birds, mammals such as elephants, feeding, yawning and bathing by the lake shores as you sail on the water. Get this done and drive back to the Lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 3: Morning game drive and departure
Start your day with coffee, after which you will head out for the last rewarding morning game drive that will give you a chance of finding some of the mammals you might have missed during the previous day, such as the lions, and Rhinos among others either hunting or resting.
After the 3-4 hours’ game drive, have a bush breakfast composed of fruits before driving back the lodge to check out and embark on a 2-3 hours’ drive to Kigali International airport.
End of trip
