7 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Masai Mara Wildlife Safari

This is undoubtedly the best safari offer, seven days of fun and discovery as you visit top travel destinations in Africa, harboring adored creatures and offering very amazing and unforgettable activities. You will enjoy your first four days in Rwanda (land of a thousand hills), enjoying a city tour at Kigali, and tracking the rare golden monkeys and the Endangered Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes national park, and then the remaining three days in Kenya, sightseeing and game viewing. The trip starts at Kigali, Rwanda and ends in Nairobi, Kenya.

Safari in Details

Day 1: Pick Up, City tour and Volcanoes National park

Upon arriving at Kigali international airport, lookout for a person, smartly dressed with your name tag and faced covered with uncontrolled smiles. He will be happy to receive and drive you to a comfortable place for briefing and answering questions concerning the trip, as you enjoy a glass of Juice.

In case you arrive early and not exhausted, the guide will take you on a tour around Kigali city, visiting the Museum, local markets to purchase souvenirs and items, before driving to Volcanoes national park to encounter the endangered Mountain Gorillas. On arrival check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and visit the twin lakes.

On this day, you will wake up to a delicious cup of coffee, then be driven to the park’s headquarters for an assembly where the park rangers will tell you the dos and don’ts while with the gentle giants in the Jungle.

This is done at 8:00 am before starting the actual 1-5 hours’ tracking exercise, with the guidance of the knowledgeable park rangers, porters, and sweet melodies emanating from the Jungle by different primates, and birds.  As you meet these creatures, one-hour allowance is yours to take photos of the giant silverbacks and the mothers nursing their young ones.

After, return to the lodge for refreshment and Lunch before going for an interesting Boat cruise and scenic viewing at the Twin Lakes (Burera and Ruhondo), where your eyes will have an amazing view of the rolling hills, plateaus, bird species and enjoy fresh air. Follow this with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and Ibyiwachu Cultural encounter

On this day after enjoying a very delicious cup of coffee, you will track the most attractive creatures in the Jungle, tiny yet very stubborn, playful, and dependents of Bamboo trees, potatoes, insects, and fruits among others.

They reside in the lower slopes of Volcanoes national park, together with other primates such as baboons and Vervet monkeys. The tracking session that starts with a briefing by the park rangers lasts for roughly 5 hours and requires you to be swift in using your camera in case you will have the best photos to take home because these creatures never settle in one place.

Follow the tracking session with lunch and then an evening drive to the Ibyiwachu village to have an amazing cultural encounter with the Rwanda locals. You will learn about the Rwanda behaviors, food, and history among others, before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4:  Depart Volcanoes to Kigali and fly to Nairobi

On this day, you will have breakfast, and then a two hour guided nature walk at the park blended with beautiful sceneries, photographic spot, and a wonderful climate. Thereafter, you will check out of the lodge after this and have a 3-4 hours’ drive to Kigali international airport to get a flight to Nairobi Kenya.

Upon arrival, you will meet our company guide who will welcome and brief you about the activities you should expect to engage in while at Maasai Mara national park, then drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Depart Nairobi to Maasai Mara National park- Evening Game Drive

You will welcome this day with breakfast before checking out of the lodge for a 5 to 6-hour drive to Maasai Mara national park, Kenya’s prime safari destination, and home to Africa’s big five, unique plant and bird species, and surrounded by the Maasai nomadic pastoralists.

You will have an enroute stopover at the fascinating Great Rift Valley where you will take photos, and admire the distant Mount Longonot. Proceed with the drive that will have a stopover for lunch at Narok trading center, then an evening arrival at the park where you will check into your lodge before heading for an amazing 3 hours’ game drive, with hopes of spotting some of the nocturnal and night hunters such as lions, leopards, and hyenas among others.

Day 6: Maasai Mara NP – Full day game drive.

Upon waking up, pack all that you will use during the game drive, and then have breakfast, followed by a rewarding 4-5 hours’ game viewing experience in the different sectors of the park, in the quest for the different mammals including lions, Buffaloes, Leopards, Elephants, Antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, and cheetahs among others, birds such as the flamingoes and ostriches, and very unique tree species.

You will have a picnic lunch break before continuing to Mara River to spot the crocodiles and school of Hippos sail on top of the water, whereas some mammals such as elephant, and Buffalos, plus Birds quenching their thirst as others bath.  After, drive back to the lodge for a tasty dinner meal and overnight stay

Day 7: Departure

This will be your last day of the trip, so, depending on your flight time, you can first have an optional two-hour nature walk experience at the park, before checking out and driving to Jommo Kenyatta international airport for your flight back home.

You will watch the green plantations, rolling hills, and scattered homesteads in the countryside during the 5-6 hours’ drive.
