You will track the mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, Uganda and Volcanoes national in Rwanda, all within the Virunga volcano chain, boat cruise at the twin lakes in Rwanda, cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmies and wildlife viewing in Maasai Mara national park in Kenya and Serengeti national park in Tanzania.

You will cover 5 premier safari destinations across East Africa, use classic accommodations, and an expert driver-guide. The trip starts from Kigali international airport Rwanda and ends at Kilimanjaro national park, Tanzania.

Safari in details:

Day 1: Pickup and drive to Volcanoes National Park

As you land at Kigali international airport, our driver-guide will be on the ground with your name tag to welcome and brief you on some of the things to look out for during the trip. Thereafter, you will have a brief city tour, visiting the genocide memorial museum for some lessons about the 1994 incidence that saw the death of millions of innocent souls.

Follow this with lunch then a three to four-hour drive to Volcanoes national park, traversing the lush vegetations, the undulating hills, and the scattered homesteads in the countryside. Arrival at the lodge will be in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla tracking and Twin lakes tour

At sunrise, you will have breakfast then drive to volcanoes national park where you will join other members out for the same mission of Gorilla trekking. You will start this with a briefing session by experienced park rangers who will explain to you the dos and don’ts while trekking, allocate you to a gorilla family and verify you’re tracking documents.

In accompany of a park ranger, a porter and security personnel, you will enter the pack, and start the 1-5 hours’ tracking from where the gentle apes were last seen, no special skills needed besides endurance, speed and some physical fitness, though the unexpected appearance of some primates and rare bird species stirs anxiety and morale.

You will be given an hour’s allowance to watch and interact with your Gorilla family, taking photos and smiling at the nursing mothers before returning for lunch at the park’s headquarters.

After lunch, you will head to Lake Ruhondo and Burera where you will spend the entire evening, having fun, watching the scattered islands, enjoying the cool breeze from the lake, and enjoying the vibes from the sweet bird melodies. Thereafter, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national Park via Lake Bunyonyi

early in the morning, greet your intestines with a cup of coffee, then join your driver-guide for a smooth 3-4 hours’ drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, crossing the green vegetation and locals going for their daily activities. We are sure that viewing the great slanting slopes will truly amaze you, as you approach Lake Bunyonyi, surrounded by over 27 islands and a large concentration of rare bird species.

You will have you a mouth-watering meal by the lake shores before proceeding with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla trekking and Batwa encounter

This is the day when your dream of reuniting with your closest relatives comes true, after breakfast and briefing by the park rangers at the park’s headquarters. Equipped with instructions, camera for taking photos, and binoculars for having a long-distance observation, you will get to the lush jungle with plenty of flora, birds, and primates, among others, searching for the gentle Apes where they are relaxing or feeding. This can last for approximately 6 hours with one hour left for you to closes watch and study these primates feed, rest, and play.

You will return to the lodge for lunch before going for an exciting interaction with the Batwa pygmies who will take you through their culture, right from there ancient ways as they lived as gatherers and wanderers in the forests, ways of marriage and coping with the changing world.

This is a culture that has retained her inheritance, and resisting change in all forms despite their pressure and political influence. Sum up the day with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe international airport and fly to Nairobi – enroute reptile village

This morning, you will have breakfast, after which you will start a 7-8 hours’ journey to Entebbe international airport for your flight to Nairobi in Kenya.

However, you will have a stopover at the equator to watch the magical demonstrations and lunch, then another stopover at the reptile village to watch spot different reptiles including snakes, snails, tortoise, and chameleons among others, rescued from the communities for visitors to watch and learn how good or dangerous they are.

You will then proceed with the drive to the airport to catch a flight that will last for approximately 2 hours, arriving late in the night for dinner and a nap.

Day 6: Connect to Maasai Mara – evening game drive

After breakfast, you will have a brief conversation with our knowledgeable company representative who will brief you about the trip, telling you more information about the activities you will engage in before the actual commencement of the voyage, with a brief stopover at the great rift valley, where you will take some photos and enjoy the fascinating views of the hills and valleys. Thereafter, proceed with the journey, making a stopover at the Narok center for Lunch, before arriving at the pack in the evening.

After a brief rest, you will have a two to three-hour night game drive in the quest for the nocturnal creatures such as the hyenas and the night hunters such as the lions, leopards, and cheetahs among. Drive to the lodge for a satisfying meal before a comfortable nap.

Day 7: Full Day game drive

Upon witnessing the sunrise, enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, and then join your driver-guide on a 4 – wheel drive to the wild for the entire day, with a picnic lunch break. Maasai Mara national park is a premier safari destination in Kenya, hosting all African big five, plus other mammals, not forgetting rare plant and bird species.

It is not a guarantee that you will spot the cats such as the cheetah, lion, leopard or a hyena, but others are easily seen, such as elephants, buffalos, Antelopes, zebras, warthogs, and giraffes among others. The Birds recorded here include the ostrich and flamingos among others.

Later in the afternoon after lunch, you will drive to Masai River to watch the crocodiles, hippos, mammals taking water and several birds soaring from one tree branch to another. Mara River borders Tanzania and is a place that witnesses great action during the annual wildebeest migration. After spending roughly 3 hours here, drive back to the lodge for a fresh Bath, followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Serengeti N/Park – Tanzania

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for an interesting drive to Serengeti National park in northern Tanzania. Our driver-guide will meet and transfer you to your lodge for dinner and overnight, awaiting the next day’s activities in the plains of Serengeti national park.

Day 9: Full day game drive in Serengeti N/park

Welcome this day with breakfast and a briefing by your driver-guide, and then check out of the lodge for an interesting 4-5 hours’ scenic drive to the interior of Serengeti national park, with chances of photography and refreshment.

You will rest a bit, have picnic lunch and continue on a 4 – wheel open rove drive, and an expert park ranger to guide you through the open savannas in search for some night hunters such as leopards, and lions among others.

You will return to the lodge a delicious meal and deep slumber.

Day 10: Departure

At dawn, you will have a 4-5 hours of game drive experience at the open vast savanna grassland, in search of small and big mammals occupying this famous destination. Some of the mammals you should look out for include lions, wildebeest, elephants, leopards, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, cheetah, and Antelopes among others.

After the search, you will enjoy an amazing bush breakfast before driving back to the lodge for early lunch and then check-out for a drive to Kilimanjaro international airport, that marks the end of the safari
