In this 12 days east African safari, you are exposed to everything you want in a safari, be it history, culture, flora and fauna, lakes and rivers, primates, classic accommodation, fun or discovery. Our expert driver-guide will take you to the different destinations while on a very exciting drive with a 4WD, tracking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park (Uganda), trekking Chimpanzees in Nyungwe national park (Rwanda), game viewing Murchison Falls National Park (Uganda), Maasai Mara in Kenya, Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania.
You will also have a rewarding cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmies in Uganda and Maasai people in Tanzania, hike to the top of Murchison falls (most powerful waterfalls), and Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania, city tour, photography, boat cruise and birding among others. The safari starts at Kigali international airport Rwanda, goes to Uganda, Kenya and finally Tanzania.
Detailed safari
Day 1: Pickup and Nyungwe National park
Upon landing at Kigali international airport, our company representative will happily receive you for the 12-days adventure across the different east African countries, he will meet and brief you about the safari, explaining the different activities and destinations indicated in the itinerary as well as responding to your inquiries.
After briefing, you will enjoy a glass of Juice and a mouth-watering lunch with a brief city tour if time allows before embarking on a 4-5 hours’ drive to Nyungwe national park, while watching the undulating hills, and the green vegetation along the way arriving at your accommodation late in the evening for a relaxed rest, followed by a dinner meal and overnight.
Day 2: Chimp tracking and Canopy walk
At approximately 6:00 am local time, you will have breakfast and then with your tracking equipment, drive to the Parks headquarters for a pre trekking briefing, done by expert park rangers who will explain to you the rules and regulations at the park.
Thereafter, they will accompany you to the Jungle that is accommodating over 13 rare primate species which include the chimpanzees, Vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, baboons, grey checked monkeys among others. The sounds and sights of several creatures you will be encountering while on the 2-5 hour hikes give you strength and morale to keep moving.
Upon finding these cousins of ours interesting, playing, feeding and mothers nursing their young ones, you will spend one hour closely studying them.
You will return to the park’s headquarters for lunch, before having an afternoon 2-3 hours’ forest canopy walk, one of the kinds in East Africa. this will give you a chance of spotting several primates and birds playing on top of trees and well watching some parts of Nyungwe national park and the neighborhood.
Dinner and overnight are next after the experience
Day 3: Depart Nyungwe to Bwindi Impenetrable National park
At sunrise, you will have a tasty cup of coffee, followed by an amazing 4-6 hours’ drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park (Uganda) home to half of the Worlds Mountain Gorilla population.
You will have an enroute stop at Lake Bunyonyi for Lunch and an optional canoe ride, before proceeding to the direction of your sector where dinner and the night will be spent at your lodge.
Day 4: Mountain gorilla tracking and Batwa Pygmies
You will join other colleagues who have come for Gorilla trekking at the sectors very early in the morning as soon as breakfast is done. During the briefing session, the park rangers will do three main things, tell you the dos and don’ts, verify your documents and allocate you to a gorilla family that has got the characteristics you admire, before escorting you to the Jungle in a quest for the gentle Apes.
Since the mountain gorillas are mobile, tracking them can last for roughly 6hours depending on your fitness and their location. Upon finding them, the park rangers will give you one hour to take photos, as well as watch the creatures play, feed and interact
At the end of one hour, return to the lodge for lunch, and then an afternoon community tour where you will visit the Batwa pygmies who will excite you with their ancient stories as hunters and Gatherers, take you to their ancestral caves, and entertain you with their captivating songs and dances. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the end of the day
Day 5: Depart Bwindi for Murchison falls National park
You will welcome this day with a cup of coffee, and then check out of the lodge for an 8-9 hours’ drive to Murchison falls national park, harboring the world’s most powerful waterfalls. You have an enroute stopover for lunch as you traverse different towns, watch jaw-dropping sceneries, plantations, and local natives moving on with their daily activities. Arrival at your lodge will be in the evening for some refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 6: Game Viewing and Boat Cruise
At 6:00 am, pick you camera, binoculars and join your driver-guide to the northern sector where you will spend approximately 4-5 hour, spotting different mammals rising from there slumber, and others returning from their night hunting.
Chance can be on your side and you spot the lions, leopards, and Hyenas besides the common ones namely, Buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, giraffes and warthogs among others. You should also look out for Birds such as the shoebill stork, crested cranes, the kingfisher and the Egyptian geese among others.
You will enjoy bush breakfast, followed by lunch and then an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls where you will have a clear view of the waterfalls, listen to the thundering waterfalls and take amazing photos.
You will also have the opportunity of spotting the Nile crocodiles, hippos, and several mammals and birds quenching their thirst by the river bank. After returning from the two-hour experience, drive to the lodge for refreshment, dinner, and overnight
Day 7: Drive to top of the falls and Transfer to Nairobi – Kenya
Our driver-guide will drive to top of the most powerful waterfalls in the world (Murchison falls) after your hefty breakfast. You will have the opportunity of glancing at the thundering rapids, the devil’s cauldron, and the rainbow on a good day.
After this, you will get back to the vehicle for a 5-6 hours’ drive to Entebbe international airport where you will find a charter plane to Nairobi – Kenya, where you will find one of our company representatives who will meet and brief you about the experience you have to expect in Kenya before taking you to your accommodation.

Day 8: Transfer to Maasai Mara National park
Early in the morning, you will enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and then check out of the lodge for a rewarding 6-7 hours’ drive to Maasai Mara game reserve, one of Kenya’s top safari destinations. As you drive, don stop glancing at the blossoming plantations, undulating Hills and scattered Homesteads, the camera can be put to task from the time the engine of the 4WD is turned on.
You will have an enroute stopover at the Great Rift Valley for photography, and another at Narok trading center for Lunch, before proceeding with a two-hour drive, to your lodge, in or within the park.
Day 9: Half day game viewing and Transfer to Serengeti national park
Today, you will spend half of your day navigating through the different corners of Maasai Mara national park after breakfast, focusing on spotting any of your dream mammals, be it a lion, leopard, zebra, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe and Antelopes among others, Birds such as the Hornbill, ostrich, flamingos among others, and unique tree species. You have an amazing opportunity of taking photographs of the beautiful sceneries and landscape.
After, return to the lodge for some refreshment, and then transfer to Serengeti national park through the Isebania border post, where you will have a mouth-watering lunch and document verifications, before proceeding to the park for dinner and overnight as you wait for the next day’s activities.
Day 10: Morning game viewing and afternoon cultural encounter with the Maasai People.
After feeling your belly with a delicious cup of coffee early in the morning, you will explore Tanzania’s largest national park, a host to the annual wildebeest migration. The 4-5 hours’ game viewing experience exposes you to a good selection of mammals including Africa’s big five, namely, Buffaloes, Rhinos, elephants, leopards, and lions; together with other mammals such as the cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and warthogs among others, birds, topography and plantation.
When are have hit your target, reward yourself with Lunch, before going for an exciting cultural experience with the Maasai herdsmen who will take you through thrilling cultural performances such as songs and dances, tell you exciting stories, and show you their herding tools? End this day with dinner and overnight at your lodge
Day 11: Depart Serengeti national park for Ngorongoro crater and afternoon hike
At sunrise, you will have breakfast, and then check out of the lodge for a scenic drive to Ngorongoro crater, the world’s largest land crater, that doubles as one of the world seven wonders. you will be spotting some of the mammals as you exit the park, and proceed with the drive to Ngorongoro, arriving
In the afternoon for lunch, followed by a 2-3 hours’ hike to the crater rim, that exposes you to a wide range of flora and fauna, besides the Big 5 mammals, and the Beautiful landscape. After feeding your eyes, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Morning game drive and departure
After breakfast, you will have a rewarding 3-4 hours’ game drive in search of the prey and predators living in this amazing destination. You will have the opportunity of spotting if not all, then most of the African Big 5 plus other mammals; namely, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, elephants and leopards, cheetahs, antelopes, giraffes and many more. Birds such as the flamingoes and ostriches, unique tree species are part of the unique attractions in this world wonder.
After the 3-4 hours’ adventure, you will return to the lodge for lunch, before checking out of the lodge to embark on a drive to the airport for your flight to the next destination.
