Detailed Safari
Day one: Pickup, city tour and drive to Bukima sector
As the agreement stands, our company representative will be glad to meet and welcome you for the unforgettable safari to the Democratic Republic of Congo, starting the experience with a briefing session that involves a glass of Juice and a detailed explanation of the itinerary and response to any inquiry.
Thereafter, have a simple tour around the cleanest city in East Africa, exchanging your dollars to Rwandan currency, visiting the local markets where you will purchase a few things you lack, enjoy lunch before embarking on a 5-7 hours’ drive to Bukima in Democratic Republic of Congo where you will have dinner and overnight.
Day Two: Tracking gorillas and cultural encounter
When you are done with the last sip of coffee of your cup, pack your binoculars, camera, water container and dress on a long-sleeved shirt and a pair of trousers, then drive to the park’s headquarters, where the tracking will be done, first, beginning with a briefing session by an expert knowledgeable park ranger who will explain to you some of the acceptable behaviors while in the Jungle. He will verify your documents, after which he will accompany you to search for the creatures in the lush forest, quietly picking up from where the Gentle apes were last spotted.
The tracking that lasts for approximately one to six hours is never boring since you encounter different primates, birds and several plant species on the way before meeting and spending one hour with the apes (mountain gorillas). Follow the tracking with a mouth-watering lunch and refreshment before heading out for an exciting cultural encounter with the locals who benefit by the visits, these where initially housed in the forest, extracting their livelihood from it. The interactions will be composed of dance, stories, and unforgettable songs. Before a nap, you will have dinner as soon as you return to the lodge.
Day Three: Departure
On this day, you will have a relaxed breakfast, then a two hour guided nature walk that exposes you to beautiful sceneries and unique plant species. After, get back to the lodge, checkout and commence a 5-6 hours’ drive to Kigali – Rwanda, making an en-route stop at the magnificent Congo – Rwanda border post where you will have lunch, take some photos before summing up with the four hours to Kigali to get your flight back home.
