This three days Kahuzi-Biega national park safari takes you to Bukavu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo to have an unforgettable encounter with the giant endangered Eastern lowland gorillas, King of the trees offered asylum in a lush forest of Kahuzi-Biega.
You will have the opportunity of differentiating between the lowland and mountain gorillas by closely studying the rare behaviors and amazing appearance of the Eastern low land Gorillas in the park as they carry on with their daily activities normally. Besides the gorilla trekking experience, there is a supplement of a city tour, photography, sightseeing, and a guided nature walk.

Day one: Pick up, City tour and transfer to Kahuzi-Biega N/park
At the very agreed hour, our committed and experienced driver-guide will be at the meeting point (hotel or airport), ready to pick you up for the three days thrilling Eastern lowland game safari. He will brief you on some aspects of the trip before going for a city tour where you will buy some of the missing trip pieces of equipment, visit the Museum followed by lunch.
Afterwards, set off for a 5 to 6-hour drive to Bukavu province, home to Kahuzi-Biega national park, while crossing the scenic Cyangugu border post, and when time allows, you will have an enroute stop at Nyanza royal palace. Arrival at the park is in the evening for dinner and a nap.
Day two: Lowland gorilla trekking
When you are done with breakfast, drive to the park’s headquarters for a pre-trek briefing by the park rangers who will tell you the code of conduct while with the gentle giants in the jungle.
Thereafter, they will guide you through the thick forest in search of your relatives, the gorillas who have opted for the wild rather than home. This can last for approximately 6 hours depending on your speed and the location the creatures have moved to, with one free hour for you to watch, study them and admire the physical appearance, games and nursing art of these apes.
This hike will leave you exhausted though with very exciting sweet memories thus having no option but to return to your lodge after lunch for refreshment and a relaxed evening till the time for dinner and overnight stay.
Day three: Guided Nature Walk and Departure
Start your morning with a yummy cup of coffee before going for a two hour guided nature walk that will enable you to stretch your muscles, have scenic viewing and explore new attractions.
Thereafter, get back to the lodge and checkout for a four to five-hour smooth drive to Kigali international airport where you will have a flight to your next destination.
