6 Days Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari from Kigali

This 6 days’ tour will give you an adventurous experience from Rwanda – Kigali to Bwindi impenetrable national park for gorilla encounter in the jungle. Later have wildlife unleash in Queen Elizabeth national park through Ishasha sector for game drives and a launch cruise along Kazinga channel.

Finally have a primate exploration in the primate land of Kibale national park. All these national parks are found in the western region of Uganda with diversity in attractions and activities that will be all experienced on this 6 days Bwindi, Queen and Kibale safari.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi national park

Pick up will be from Kigali – Rwanda by our professional tour guide and head for a short excursion to the Kigali genocide memorial site, where you will find detailed information about the genocide Massacre that took place in 1994. After this, start a 4-hour drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park via Cyanika border. On arrival to the park in Rushaga sector, relax and chill as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

Have an early morning breakfast and prepare for gorilla trekking, this sector has over four habituated families including Busingye, Kahungye, Mishaya and Bweza, etc., but you will only be allowed to visit one family and spend one hour with these beautiful species. Trekking takes about to 2 to 6 hours as you move through the thick forest with the sounds of birds singing and butterflies flying across your face. After this activity you will relax at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After your morning breakfast buffet, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park which is a 4-hour drive from Rushaga sector. Proceed through the southern part of the park, have lunch and an afternoon game drive in Ishasha sector that will expose you to big game such as the tree climbing lions, leopards, buffalos and Antelopes among others. Later on head back to the accommodation site where you will have supper and sleep over.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel  

Have a warm cup of tea, and prepare for an early morning game drive in Kasenyi sector where you will have an insight into the park’s big game such as the lions, Kobs, hyenas and buffaloes among others. After head for lunch at the lodge and then proceed for an afternoon launch cruise on Kazinga channel where a number of birds will be seen as well as mammals such as hippos and crocodiles and so much more. Later on go back to the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale national park. Bigodi wetland tour.

Have early morning breakfast and embark on a 3-hour journey to Kibale national park, have lunch at your lodge and then proceed to the park for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary; this area is richly endowed with numerous bird species that are over 200 in population. As you walk through the swamp, you will be amazed by the primate species that are also found in the area such as the Colobus monkeys and baboons among others. Later on head to the lodge for a rest.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trek and transfer to Kampala.

This is the last day of your 6 days Bwindi, Queen and Kibale safari. After breakfast at the lodge, undertake a chimp trekking tour from 8:00am to 11:00am and afterwards you will embark on the journey to Kampala. Stopover in Mubende town for lunch and continue the journey to Entebbe where you will take a flight to your next destination.
