This 5 days tour will take you to Murchison falls national park that is found in the west central region of Uganda. This park is endowed with number savannah wildlife species for example the African buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, lions, giraffes and many others that will be experienced on the trip. Also this park houses the world’s strongest waterfall ‘Murchison falls” that will be visited while on the tour.
The 5 days trip will engage a primate experience in Kibale national park that is found in kabarole district with about 13 primate species living in the forest. You will trek primates such as chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys and baboons among others. This trip is a lifetime dream that one shouldn’t miss on their Ugandan safari.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park, via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
Early pick up from Kampala / Entebbe airport by your safari guide. He will brief you about 5 days tour to Murchison and Kibale N/parks in details. Begin a transfer for 5 hours to Murchison Falls NP, via Ziwa rhino sanctuary and take an optional rhino trekking tour.
Thereafter, proceed to Masindi town or Kabalega dinners where you will have an enroute lunch. After lunch embark on the journey to the park where you will travel through thick vegetation to visit top of Murchison falls. Later on check at the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
Day 2: Game drive and an evening boat cruise
Have breakfast and prepare for a morning game drive in the northern side of Murchison falls. This drive will expose you to the greatest wildlife species such as Elephants, warthogs, giraffes, Jacksons hartebeest etc., with also a number of different bird species that will be viewed for example the grey crowned crane, black headed lapwing, Giant heron, Abyssinian ground hornbills and many others.
After this fun activity, head back for lunch and proceed for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. This relaxing boat cruise unleashes different aquatic species that live in the waters and banks of Nile river.
As most animals gather to cool off and drink in the water of the Nile, these include crocodiles, hippos and elephants among others as for these will be seen while on a 3-hour boat cruise. Later head back to the lodge for a meal and sleepover.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After a refreshing night, have a cup of tea then check out of the lodge and start a 5-hour drive to Kibale national park. Stop over will be made at Kibiro salt garden in Hoima giving you an adventure of how salt is processed.
You will have a stopover for lunch in Hoima town and continue your journey to Kibale national park where dinner and a sleep over will be at the lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park.
Have late breakfast and then prepare for a primate experience in Kibale national park, head to the headquarters for briefing by the guides about the dos and don’ts while trekking the chimps. Six individuals will be allowed to trek each troop, and this takes about 3 hours and the trekkers will spend 1 hour with the habituated chimpanzee group. In this park the main activity is the Kanyanchu walk where 13 primate species are unveiled and other species such as the Colobus monkeys, baboons, red tailed monkeys, etc. After this activity, head to the lodge for chills as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala
Have breakfast in the morning, start off your journey to Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru in Fort Portal, a historical site with unique and authentic background that will leave you amazed on how the formation of this place came about. You will be given a historical background of this place by the guide and later trek though the slippery trails of the site as your look at the amazing creations. After have lunch and continue your journey to Kampala, proceed to Entebbe international Airport for departure to your next destination.
