Visit the moist evergreen rain forest for chimpanzee trekking and on your way back to Kampala after the activity at Kibale National Park, you will have a stopover at the Equator to experience the main latitude in the world and to have an opportunity to stand in two different hemispheres at the same time.
Highlights
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls N/P.
The driver will pick you up to start on the journey to Murchison falls National Park, experience the sceneries of the savannah besides Gulu highway. The journey itself covers a distance of 282 kilometers, approximately 4 hours’ drive from Kampala to Murchison falls through the districts of Luwero, Masindi and Nakasongola.
Have an optional activity of visiting the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola district – Nakitoma Village.
Drive directly to the top of Murchison falls, to see the magnificent waterfalls which are known to be the most powerful falls in the whole world; learn about the history of the falls and then transfer to your lodge in the evening, check in for refreshment dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise On R. Nile.
Following your morning coffee, you will head for a morning game drive to spot some of the big five mammals including buffaloes, lions, leopards & elephants. The morning game drive gives a chance to spot nocturnal animals and the hunters before they return to their hideouts. After the morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch.
After lunch in the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on the Nile which is a major spot in this park to view lots of wildlife species like; hippos, elephants, antelopes, buffaloes to mention but a few at a close and clear range as they come to drink water to refresh themselves off the scorching sun and also enjoy fresh grass along the banks of the river in the afternoon.
The boat goes to the base of the water falls and here you will have a chance to see the powerful falls in the world. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park.
After breakfast in the morning, embark on the journey to Kibale National Park which covers a distance of 343 kilometers, approximately 6-hour drive from Murchison falls N/park to Kibale National Park.
Visit the primate capital of Africa known for its vast numbers of primates ranging from the mighty chimpanzees, vervet monkeys, and numerous counts of butterflies and forest species. On arrival late in the evening you will check into the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and transfer back to Kampala Via equator.
You will wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and the tour guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the rules followed during chimp tracking.
After, the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide will walk you through down the forest to start the chimp tracking adventure, during this activity you have a chance of spotting other primates, like the Red-tailed colobus, Red-tailed monkeys and blue-tailed monkeys swinging on the tree branches.
Upon reaching your allocated family of chimps, you will spend one hour with them taking pictures, studying their day to day life and so on.
After chimp trekking, transfer back to Kampala, a stopover at the equator for stretch up and take some pictures for memories, buy some hand-made crafts, then proceed with your journey to Kampala for your departure.
