Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest Savannah Park in Uganda; the park is near Kampala – the capital city of Uganda which is about 236 kilometers, approximately 4-hour drive in the Western region of Uganda in Kiruhura district.
During this 2 days’ tour, you will have an opportunity to see the famous animals like crocodiles, hippos and various bad species that dwell on the shores of Lake Mburo N/park. Go for a game drive around Lake Mburo National Park exploring the savannah residents around this park which include; Warthogs, giraffes, elands, Zebras and so many others.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, Afternoon Boat Cruise.
An early morning pick-up by the tour guide on your first day and transfer to the western part of Uganda via Kampala-Mbarara highway through Kalungu, Lyantode and then Kiruhura District where the park is located, reach the lodge check in for lunch and prepare for an afternoon boat cruise.
After lunch, proceed for an hour afternoon boat cruise where you will a chance to explore the park’s aquatic residents like hippos, crocodiles and numerous bird species like; cormorants, herons, pelicans, malachite and so many other bird species.
Transfer back to the lodge after this activity for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and transfer back to Kampala, Stopover at the Equator.
Wakeup early in the morning for a morning game drive which will start at 6:30am. During this activity, you will have an opportunity to see various nocturnal mammals before they go back to their hide outs, these mammals include, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, elands and herds of cattle which graze on the fresh vegetation early in the morning.
After an interesting game drive, return to the lodge for lunch after lunch, set off for a journey to Kampala via the Equator for stretching up and taking pictures for memories while standing in two different hemispheres at the same time that is the northern and southern hemisphere. Then after continue up with your journey to Kampala for departure.
